Q. Where is Playa del Carmen located?
A. Playa del Carmen is in the Mexican Caribbean coast, one hour south of Cancán, in the state of Quintana Roo, in the Yucatán Peninsula. Southeast Mexico.

Q. Riviera Maya, Cozumel, Tulum and Playa del Carmen are all in Cancún?
A. Cancún is home to the International Airport of Cancún (AIC). The Riviera Maya begins less than 15 minutes (or 25 km) away from Cancún International Airport and stretches until Tulum (more than 140 km on the Caribbean Sea Coast) Within the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen is located (40 mins or 60 km away from the AIC) and further south is Tulum (130 km or 90 minutes of the ICA). All of this is within the state of Quintana Roo. Cancun is not within the Mayan Riviera but close enough for you to enjoy all these places at a very short distance and time.

Q. How hard is it to reach Playa del Carmen from Cancún International Airport (AIC)?
A. EThere are several simple options. You can take an ADO bus just off international lounge. It arrives directly to downtown Playa del Carmen after 1 hour. Or, you can hire a taxi service from the airport. You can also hire private transportation Airport-Hotel-Airport in our front desk.

Q. How long in advance should I depart from Playa del Carmen for Cancún International Airport (AIC)?
A. Approximate travel time is one hour. The distance is 65 km. We suggest you plan ahead in case of any unforeseen circumstance. For national flights, we suggest leaving two and a half hours in advance; if your flight is international, leave three and a half hours before.

Q. Do you offer transportation service to Cancún International Airport (AIC)?
A. Yes, you can request transportation service from AIC to Hotel Hul-kú with prior reservation. Service with extra charge.

Q. Should I hire a private transportation service for Tulúm or Cancún?
A. It is always a good option to hire private transportation service, but there are also buses (ADO) or public transportation which take you to both places.

Q. Do I need to set aside a lot of money for transportation service?
A. No, if your stay will only cover Playa del Carmen, you will find everything you need within a walking distance. If you plan on going out on a tour or to nearby sites, we recommend you rent a car only for those days in which you plan visiting other nearby sites.

Q. Can I pay my reservation in US Dollars or Euros?
A. Yes, you can pay in US dollars or Mexican pesos; you can also use your Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card. It is not necessary to change all your foreign currency into Mexican pesos. Only change the amount you think you would need, since many the establishments accept credit or debit cards.

Q. What kind of food will I find around the hotel?
A. All kinds of food, international, Mexican, specialized food and at different prices. From 40 pesos to 2000 pesos per person. In Playa del Carmen you will find restaurants that range from modest to gourmet.

Q. How much will I need to pay for transportation from the hotel to the beach?
A. Nothing at all! You just need to walk 4 streets and you will be at the Caribbean Sea coast. You will see restaurants and beach clubs so you can enjoy a delicious Margarita while you enjoy the beach and the Caribbean Sea.

Q. Is there an archaeological site in Playa del Carmen I can visit?
A. Yes, the first Mayan inhabitants of Playa del Carmen were fishermen from the archeological site called Xamanhá (North water), a settlement of the late post-classic period (1200-1550 A.D.). The site is divided into 8 separate groups and distributed along the coastal dunes and the jungle. The town was composed of temples, residences and platforms for houses of perishable materials. It is located south of Playa del Carmen, within the Playacar district and you can access it from 10th Avenue walking or by bicycle. It is advisable to visit it during the morning, since it does not have artificial lighting.

A. You can take guided visits to caves and cenotes without worrying about rain or little sun lighting. Q. What is the latest time I can go out for a walk along the 5th Avenue?
A. Usually after 11 am until midnight, but there are places, mostly restaurants that open at 8:00 am for breakfast and bars that close until after 2 am.
